Illuminated signage in Liberia, on a station that works after dark
Illuminated signage in Liberia has one job above all others: to be read from the road at night. King Sign & Design built the Skye Petroleum station at Congo Town — the forecourt and canopy, the Alubond cladding running up the building above it, and the full signage package that makes the site visible after dark.
The work covered the station structure and steel canopy over the pump islands, aluminium and glazed façade, Alubond cladding, roller shutters to the ground-floor units, and the signage throughout — 3D illuminated lettering, the lit fuel-grade icons, and a pylon identity sign carrying a live LED price display for gas and diesel.
A fuel station trades around the clock, so the lighting is not decoration. The canopy fascia, the pylon and the ground-floor signage were specified to carry the Skye identity at a distance and in the dark, where a driver decides where to stop in a couple of seconds.
