A seafront hotel, built end to end
King Sign & Design led the complete construction of Hotel Buchanan in Grand Bassa County, Liberia — a ground-up build delivered from foundations through to handover. Work began in August 2022 and the building was completed in March 2023.
The project covered every stage: site preparation and foundations, reinforced concrete structure, roofing, block work and plastering, electrical and plumbing installations, internal finishing, and the external works around the pool deck and grounds. Each phase was supervised by our own team rather than passed to subcontractors, so there was a single point of accountability from the first drawing to the final inspection.
Building on the coast brings its own demands — salt air, heavy seasonal rainfall and humidity all shorten the life of the wrong materials. Specifications were chosen for those conditions rather than for the lowest cost, which is why the building still presents the way it did on handover.
Hotel Buchanan now operates as one of Grand Bassa County’s premier destinations, and remains one of the clearest demonstrations of what our construction division delivers at full scale.
